bio

Jessica Fisher (b. 1994, Albany, NY) is a Brooklyn-based ceramic artist and home product designer whose work bridges utility and sculpture, inviting viewers to explore the beauty in functional art. Driven by curiosity and a deep respect for the material, she approaches each piece with the same adaptability she brings to every aspect of her practice — whether translating a 2D concept into a fully realized form, developing a custom glaze, or collaborating within a shared studio environment.

Through a combination of wheel-thrown and hand-built techniques, she crafts unique, textured forms that challenge conventional design and celebrate raw, organic aesthetics. What emerges in her work is a dialogue between structure and chance — glazes dripping and pooling around sculptural surfaces, revealing the tension between intention and material.

Informed by a deep connection to her community and surroundings, Jessica's self-taught practice is rooted in the belief that creativity flourishes when it is shared. As an instructor and collaborator, she is as committed to nurturing others' growth as she is to her own, fostering the kind of creative environments where both people and work can thrive. Her pieces have been featured in events and exhibitions, including the Brooklyn Ceramic Arts Tour (2024), TUMBAO (2023), and BKLYN Clay (2021).

Each piece is a testament to her commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and an intuitive attunement to the material. Through her work, Jessica creates a tangible link between art and daily life,  transforming everyday objects into something that feels both discovered and inevitable.
